Prior to entering the fall season, the Center for Lifelong Learning is celebrating the conclusion of the summer with a program featuring a presentation on Yoga for Strength Building, a sing-along with the Fun and Fancy Outreach Group and free lunch. The program is scheduled for Friday, August 30 at 1:00 PM in the Clubhouse 1 Maryland Room. It is free to residents but make sure to register with ER&R to reserve your seat.

The Yoga presentation is brought to Leisure World by Synergy Home Care. The presenter will be Julie S. Holly. She will address the basics of Yoga which serve a treatment for stress, depression and anxiety. Julie is a Certified Yoga Teacher, Certified Personal Trainer and Cancer Exercise Specialist. She has been teaching yoga and meditation for 9 years and is one of Level Fitness’ resident instructors. Her specialties include alignment based yoga as well as yoga for the treatment of stress, depression and anxiety.

The sing-along will enable the audience to participate in voicing a variety of songs selected to reflect the ending of summer and looking ahead to the Fall season. The Fun & Fancy singers leading the song fest will be Nancy Koski and Steve Bennof accompanied by Carol Copeland on the piano.

The refreshments are being provided by Synergy and will have a semblance to the barbeques that will be a prominent feature for many in the Labor Day weekend that follows the program.

The program is a component of the many that are brought to the residents of Leisure World by the Center for Lifelong Learning. If you have an interest in participating in the work that the Center does, attend it’s monthly business meeting the first Monday of every month at 10:00 AM in the Potomac room of Clubhouse 1.
